Chairman Horn to be at Earthquake Safety Workshop

An earthquake safety workshop, the second scheduled in the Fifth District, will be held at the San Marcos Branch Library, 2 Civic Center, San Marcos on May 17, 2006 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The event is one of several being held around the County and presented by the County of San Diego Office of Emergency Services.

"I'm committed to make sure every person in our County knows how to take care of themselves and their families during a disaster for at least 72 hours in the event government help is not available," said Fifth District Supervisor and Chairman Bill Horn who will take part in the presentation. "An earthquake is one of the disasters we know is likely to hit our region."

Earthquake safety kits for home preparedness will be available at the meeting.
