Supervisor Bill Horn Commemorates National Day of Prayer

Who: County Supervisor Bill Horn, Salvation Army Ensemble

What: Prayer at the Flagpole

Where: County Administration Building, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego 92101. East side flagpole 

When: Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 12:15 p.m.-12:45 p.m.

Why: Supervisor Horn will, once again, commemorate the National Day of Prayer by leading attendees in prayer at the CAC flagpole. The theme for the 62nd National Day of Prayer is "Pray for America.” 

The National Day of Prayer was established as an annual event by an act of Congress in 1952, and was signed into law by President Truman. President Reagan amended the law in 1988, designating the first Thursday of May each year. People of all faiths are invited to turn to God in prayer and meditation.

This commemoration is a personal, not a government function; attendees are welcome to participate on their personal time.
