We live during a time when the media often decides the quality of services that government or quasi-government agencies deliver to the public. Usually the media’s “take” presents a negative impression, so I wanted to give a “fair and balanced” viewpoint.

This month, the 2010/2011 San Diego County Grand Jury recognized 13 government or quasi-government agencies for their excellent work in delivering services to the public. Six of those agencies are part of the County of San Diego team.

  • Health and Human Services Agency: Child Welfare Services
  • San Diego County Commission on Children and Families
  • San Diego County Medical Examiner and Forensic Center
  • A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center
  • San Diego County Department of Planning and Land Use
  • San Diego County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab

I’m proud of the tremendous work that all of these members of the County team are doing and invite you to look at the complete report on the Grand Jury’s website:www.sdcounty.ca.gov/grandjury.
