SAN DIEGO - Chairman Bill Horn, who was chairman of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors on September 11, 2001 will speak at a 9/11 Memorial Service onboard the flight deck of the USS Midway Museum on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
"America was changed forever on 9/11," Chairman Horn said. "Our resolve in the face of those who seek to destroy us is a clear statement that the United States stands as a guardian of God-given liberty for all freedom-loving people."
The event starts at 2:30 PM and will include a wreath-laying ceremony, a Navy flyover and the reading of the names of victims of the 9/11 attack.
The memorial service is open to the public and admission to the ship is free beginning at 1:30 PM. The USS Midway Museum is at 910 N. Harbor Drive in San Diego.
