WHAT: Press Conference

WHEN: Friday, March 23rd 2012; 7:30 a.m.

WHERE: Mission Hills Nursery (1525 Fort Stockton Drive; San Diego 92103)

WHY: ACR42 is a resolution from the State Assembly encouraging Californians to “Eat Local, Buy California Grown.” Supervisor Bill Horn, Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher and Farm Bureau President Noel Stehly want to raise awareness and remind consumers, restaurants and grocers to buy California grown foods, fiber and floriculture.

Farm fresh and home grown… California has it all. Why go anywhere else?

San Diego County has more small farms than any other county in the nation. When shoppers buy locally grown products, the farms benefit, the local economy benefits and the consumer benefits with fresh food and floral products. There are more than 50 farmers' markets and local and regional stores carrying San Diego grown products. So whether it’s milk, grapes, nursery products, almonds, beef, strawberries or tomatoes, “Eat Local, Buy California Grown.”
